Tis the Season

Today I was inspired by the Christmas season. A while back, I ordered the red and white polka dot beads, and for some reason they are really catching my eye. I was looking through my bead selection and I thought the polka dots would look really cute with the green striped beads, and they did. I like the red, green, and silver watch band best. I'm pretty bummed that the green striped beads are almost gone!

Chain Me Up

I've been noticing a lot of jewelry incorporating chain lately. The last time I went to the mall I saw several necklaces in this style, so I thought I'd give it a try. Tell me what you think.

Mother's Day

I know Mother's Day is two months away, but it's never too early to start planning, right?! I made this freshwater pearl necklace last weekend and I really loved the way it turned out. I think it would make the perfect Mother's Day present for your mom, mother-in-law, or wife (I know this wife would appreciate it!). This style also makes a beautiful bracelet.

I'm So Excited!

For Christmas my husband gave me three books to help me learn to do wire wrapping along with some supplies (wire and tools) to get me started. These earrings are my first attempt at making anything, and I think they turned out so cute! I am so excited to try some new techniques!

Freshwater Pearl Necklace

I got this necklace idea from my friend Linda. I think it turned out really well. The necklace is about 32 inches long and alternates white potato freshwater pearls and banded bronze rice freshwater pearls.
I can't wait to try this style out on different types of beads!

Glass Bead Watch Bands

I was think today that I hadn't made anything with my glass beads for a while so I tried out making some watch bands with them. I really like how the purple bands turned out.

I made some watch bands today. I really liked how they turned out. My favorite one is the middle, brown one.

New Watch Bands

I finally broke down and made Christmas watch bands. I saw a couple of pretty stylish ladies at church on Sunday wearing a red, clear, and green watch band and I thought they were pretty cute. So, these two bands are my attempt at recreating them. The other two pictures are some new ideas I had and I thought they turned out pretty good!

New Earrings

Bracelets

To prepare for my upcoming craft fair (December 4th & 5th at Middle Canyon Elementary in Tooele) I'm attempting to make more bracelets and earrings. Here are my most recent bracelets. From left to right; four fresh water pearl bracelets, two glass pearl bracelets, two acrylic bracelets, and four natural stone bracelets.

Bracelets

I finally took some pictures of some bracelets! I have to say that bracelets are very difficult to photograph. These bracelets have toggle clasps (obviously) and are made of glass, natural stone, freshwater pearl, porcelain, and wood beads. I'm hoping to get some new inspiration to help my bracelet supply grow!

Holiday Gift and Craft Fair

I was notified today that I am going to be participating in the Holiday Gift and Craft Fair at Middle Canyon Elementary this year! This will be on Friday December 4th from 5pm-9pm and Saturday December 5th from 10AM-6PM. I guess I'm going to be a really busy girl getting ready for my two craft fairs!!!

More Watch Bands

Lately I've only been getting inspiration for watch bands. In this batch my favorites are the silver and clear and the yellow/brown one next to it. The green, red, clear, and yellowish beads are really cool. They are made out of clear colored resin but there is silver foil wrapped around the hole which gives the bead a really neat sparkle. I just ran out of silver spacer bars, so look forward to some new necklaces and bracelets!!!

Tooele Holiday Boutique

I've signed up for the Tooele Holiday Boutique. The boutique will be at the Best Western in Tooele (next door to 7-11) on Nov. 20-21. I am only going to be there on Saturday November 21 from 9am-8pm. Tell everyone you know! Hopefully this will be better than the Helper Arts Festival!!!

I'm waiting to hear back from another arts and crafts fair here in Tooele that will be the first part of December. Stay tuned for more info on that.

New Watch Bands

About a month ago I got a new shipment of supplies and I've been able to have a lot of fun with them. I wish I had more time to work on this, but I guess I have something to look forward to during Thanksgiving and Christmas vacation! I think my favorites out of this bunch are the multi-colored and the pearl band. The mulit-colored goes with just about anything, and the pearl dresses anything up.

When I first started making the watch bands I didn't think I would wear them. But I'm absolutely loving them!

Re-Structuring

So, the arts festival was a flop! I'm pretty bummed about it, but after taking a couple weeks to think about my experience I've decided it was a good thing. At first I was pretty angry about the whole experience. The first thing I did when I got home from the festival was move all of my jewelry making things to the basement. I didn't want to look at the supplies that reminded me that I was a failure. I haven't gotten to the point where I can make something new, but I'm getting there.

Thanks to all my friends and family that have supported me so far. I'm sure I'll be up and at it again very soon. I'll keep you posted! Here are some pictures of my newest watch bands that I made before I went to the arts festival.

Earrings

Here are some earrings that I've been working on. I've been struggling with thinking of different styles of earrings that I can make.
